Materials Needed
Wrench or pliers
Replacement washer or cartridge
Screwdriver
Plumber’s tape (optional)
Steps
Turn Off the Water
Before doing anything, turn off the water supply to the faucet. Locate the shut-off valve under the sink.
Disassemble the Faucet
Use a screwdriver or wrench to remove the faucet handle and any other parts that cover the valve.
Replace the Washer or Cartridge
Most leaks occur because of a worn-out washer or cartridge. Replace it with a new one that matches your faucet model.
Reassemble the Faucet
Once the new parts are in place, reassemble the faucet and turn the water supply back on.
Test for Leaks
Turn on the faucet and check for leaks. If it’s still dripping, you may need to adjust the parts or replace additional components.
